Norfolk Southern's history of corporate philanthropy and the scope of its community engagement made the railroad company the logical choice for the 2014 Corporate Darden Award for Regional Leadership.
The Norfolk-based Fortune 500 company will be honored with the award Nov. 19 courtesy of the CIVIC Leadership Institute.
The occasion will mark the second time CIVIC has presented a corporate award. TowneBank received the inaugural honor in 2013.
