Josh Darden leaves Hampton Roads a better place

Civic leader and philanthropist Joshua P. Darden, 77, died Wednesday night, leaving members of the community heartbroken over the loss of someone they say truly made a mark on Hampton Roads. “When we talk about people being in the world, I don’t think there have been many that have left the world better than they found it,” said Cathy Lewis, executive director of the CIVIC Leadership Institute, which Darden founded in 1996. “I’m not sure I can identify many, if any, that have made such a dramatic impact on this area.”
